A bit of background: when I started my first motion graphics job, my Creative Lead was adamant that I should always turn on the 3D layers first before doing any animating, and I'd always forget, but I knew there has to be a way to automate this whole process.
So in my spare time, I wrote this script that helps me turn on the 3D layers AND push them back into Z space without losing all of the animation, which made my work so much faster.
A year has passed, and I wanted to create a personal project surrounding the script, and release it to the world!
It's got one little problem in the code, but it's been ages since I touched it so I'm not gonna bother. If some of you could look into the code and hell even modify it to your own workflow? Man that would be so cool.
I had a lot of fun experimenting with 2D and 3D, mixing and matching the elements to make a cohesive style, check out the process below:
